Digital Quarters
About
Digital Quarters examines the future of digital media and publishing and provides perspectives on the changes needed for media companies to grow profitably. The threats to those in the traditional media space are clear, but the opportunities are also apparent. The industry must embrace change: more relevant content and interactive experiences; lower cost sources for commodity content; new incentive structures; and models to charge consumers for quality content. Most importantly, publishers must put consumers first, rather than insisting on the old editor-as-king model which is destined for obsolescence in a world of vast consumer choice and serendipity driven by social recommendations.
